Myself and other members of the Glasgow City Media team on trophy presentation day

Personal Statement

I am currently a freelance multimedia journalist. I have recently completed my time learning and enhancing my skills at the University of the West of Scotland.

A sports fanatic, I currently hold the role of volunteer videographer for Glasgow City FC capturing the pitch-side angle of Scotland’s most successful woman’s side. In this position, I have been able to cover women’s football matches all across the country and abroad as well as covering various competitions. I have written for The Falkirk Herald, Read Aston Villa and Vavel covering match reports, season previews and transfer speculation. I have also hosted a Scottish football podcast called TinPot Talk which highlighted the best of Scottish football. Alongside this, I also manage the social accounts for Ayr Rugby the Ayrshire Bulls.

Whilst a sports fan, my interests don’t stop there and I’m also interested in covering politics & current affairs and arts & culture. I have covered stories on Brexit and the 2019 general election.

As I continue to grow and hone my craft as a journalist I pick up new skills and techniques. I am currently adept with the following:

  • Audacity
  • Burli
  • Final Cut Pro
  • iMovie
  • Shorthand
  • Camera Operation
  • Canva

I also have a valid driver’s licence and a car alongside owning a camera which is a Sony a6500. I have used this camera to create the vast majority of my video content. I am a fast learner and can pick up new skills and techniques quickly.
